BELINGTON – The Barbour Community Health Association’s Belington Wellness Center will be offering its 10th annual Turkey Trot on Saturday, November 6.

Each year, this event benefits Heart and Hand House and Belington Presbyterian Church, organizations that give back to communities in Barbour County in a variety of ways.

The 5 km walk / run will take place at the Belington Wellness Center at 70 N. Sturmer Street on a mostly flat course. The Turkey Trot is open to walkers and runners of all ages. Participants will be divided by age as follows: 10 and under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.

The program for the day is as follows:

9h00: Start of the 5K Turkey Trot

9:15 am: 1 mile Fun Trot begins

“We are delighted to be able to organize this event again because it benefits so many people in the community“, said Scott Nesland, PA-C of the Myers Clinic. “The Heart and Hand House and the Belington Presbyterian Church do so much for communities across the county, such as serving hundreds of residents during Thanksgiving. We would not pass up an opportunity to help.

Prizes will be presented to the best finishers in the seven age categories following the 5 km race, as well as a turkey awarded to the overall male and female winner. Prizes will also be awarded to participants with the three best fall-themed outfits.
