Kurz has long taken a firm approach to migration issues. He recently said that Austria would not accept any migrants from Afghanistan as it has taken in a “disproportionately high” number since 2015. That year, 1 million people entered Europe from the Middle East, from Africa and Asia.

Kurz says, “We can’t let 2015 repeat itself.”

Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis said: “There really is no place for them in Europe. “

WASHINGTON – Top U.S. Army Officer Tells Troops Who Participated In The Chaotic Massive Evacuation From Afghanistan To Hold Their Heads Up And Ignore The Criticism Circulating About The War And How It Is Coming is finished.

In a direct interview with military crews at McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Joint Base in New Jersey on Tuesday, Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the war in Afghanistan did not end as many wanted.

“This is not the result we wanted, but it is the result we have,” Milley told the troops who evacuated the evacuees from Afghanistan. “And know that in the end here what you did as individuals and collectively was something enormously heroic, honorable and noble. You can always hold your head up high.

Milley spent much of the weekend traveling through Europe, speaking to the US servicemen who participated in the evacuation. The effort pulled more than 124,000 Americans, Afghans and others out of the country following the collapse of the government amid a violent and rapid takeover by the Taliban. The Biden administration has come under fire for the turbulent evacuation that left many Afghans at risk behind and killed 13 US soldiers in a suicide bombing at the gate of Kabul airport as they screened desperate Afghans to go out.
