A BRIT tourist has miraculously survived after falling 6,000ft onto rocks in a horrific paragliding accident.

The unnamed 27-year-old flew off the 1,800m high runway on Badabag mountain in the popular resort town of Oludeniz, Turkey, before suddenly collapsing downwards.

After his hovering parachute reportedly failed, he dove onto the rocks below moments after taking flight.

Emergency services were called and specialist agents rushed to collect the stricken tourist.

However, to everyone’s amazement, he had somehow survived the steep fall.

He was rushed to hospital and suffered several broken bones.

But despite the height from which he fell, his condition is miraculously reported as not life threatening.

The brave Brit defied all odds according to a report from the National Library of Medicine.

Researchers have found that although paragliding has the lowest injury rate of any adventure or extreme sport, when accidents do occur they are more likely to be fatal.

Common sports-related injuries include lower extremity fractures, often of the ankle.

It comes after another Briton was killed while paragliding in the same area last week.

Frank Lally, 62, crashed into the rocks under the mountain and tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

In a similar incident, a 50-year-old Briton died in a paragliding accident in Spain in September.

However, the circumstances of the accident are not yet known.
