Community Thanksgiving Basket Sign Up Now Available

JAY – This year, the free Thanksgiving baskets will return after last year’s hiatus due to the Covid pandemic. A full Thanksgiving meal, including turkey or chicken (for small families) is on the menu.

Anyone living in the Jay, Livermore and Livermore Falls area can register during the month of October. There will be no registrations in November so food can be ordered.

People requesting a Thanksgiving basket do not need to be food cabinet customers, but registrants are asked to be ready to pick up the ordered baskets on the Monday before Thanksgiving. Volunteers will be there to help with loading into the cars.

Registration hours in October are during the opening hours of the food cabinet: Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The food cabinet is located on Horan Street in Jay, behind the old St. Rose School building.

If anyone in the community would like to donate for this project, they can do so by sending a contribution to Tri-Town Ministerial Food Cupboard (TTMFC.). Box 314, Livermore Falls 04254. They will receive a tax deductible receipt and a thank you.

The phone number for the food cabinet is 897-2441, and messages can only be left or answered during the hours of operation of the food cabinet. Sorry, cart reservations cannot be taken over the phone.
