Discontent in Turkish media for US transport ship in Alexandroupolis – Greek City Times


The arrival of the American freighter “ARC Independence” in the port of Alexandroupolis was widely reported by the Turkish media, which presented the news with obvious embarrassment.

The Haberler news portal talks about “the growing tension near the Turkish border”.

The article disseminates all known information on the military equipment carried by the American transport, noting that the port of Alexandroupolis is “only 40 kilometers from Turkey”.

The portal writes, among other things: “The US military transport vessel ‘ARC Independence’ has arrived at the port of Alexandroupolis.

“It has become known that the ship, which carries a large number of helicopters and military vehicles to support the ‘Atlantic Resolve’ military exercise, is not the only one to have arrived in the port of Alexandroupolis, which does not is only 40 km from Turkey.

“Other ships will come to the area in the coming days with military equipment.”

CNN Türk said: “Apart from ‘ARC Independence,’ in the next few days other US transport companies will be arriving in Alexandroupolis.”

They also referred to the event which will take place in the port of Alexandroupolis on Friday in the presence of the American ambassador to Athens, Geoffrey R. Pyatt, and Greek officials.

“More than a thousand tanks, more than 120 helicopters and a large number of military personnel are expected to arrive in Alexandroupoli as part of the larger mission they have accomplished,” CNN Türk noted in an article titled Today ” US Giant mission to Alexandroupolis ”.
