Oghenekaro Etebo admits he’s unsure if he’ll be at English Premier League club Stoke City next season, The PUNCH reports.
Etebo played on loan for Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray, helping Fathi Terim’s side to finish second last season.
The 25-year-old midfielder has made 29 appearances in all competitions for the Turkish side, which face PSV Eindhoven in two appearances in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers.
“It was a good experience for me to play for one of the biggest teams in Turkey last season,” Etebo told PUNCH.
“Right now I have to go back to Stoke City for the preseason because I have a contract with them and we are seeing how it goes. I can’t decide that now because I still have to speak with the coach. before making a decision about my future.
“I don’t know if I will be back at Galatasaray next season or if I will join a new team. The window is always open and anything can still happen.
The combative midfielder also regretted that Galatasaray missed out on the Turkish Super Lig title last season.
Besiktas won the Turkish Super Lig for the 16th time in its history after registering a 2-1 victory at Goztepe on the final day of the season on goal difference ahead of rival Istanbul Galatasaray in a tense end of the season .
Besiktas’ goal difference of +45 was higher than that of his rivals.
“It was very painful to miss the title on the last day of the season just on goal difference,” he said.
“I felt really bad because we did our best to be champions, but it was never meant to happen.”
Galatasaray paid Stoke City € 675,000 as loan fees for the Nigeria international last season, according to Transfer market.
