The chill in the air means the holiday season has arrived.

The next few weeks are full of community gatherings, fundraisers, special business events and more:

• The St. Bartholomew Community Food Pantry will host a community Thanksgiving dinner from noon to 3 p.m. on Nov. 20 at the St. Bartholomew Parish Center, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville.

The free meal is limited to 400 guests. For further information: Call 724-962-7130.

• The seventh edition Grateful gallop 5K will take place at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, November 24, at 620 Greenwood Drive, Grove City. It is presented by Grove City Area Federal Credit Union and organized by Wolf Creek Track Club.

Registration costs $32.50 and includes a drawstring bag, finisher medal, refreshments and online results. Packages can be picked up in advance or on race day. There will be a donation box to collect non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Grove City Community Food Pantry.

• The 35th edition Gobble Wobble 5K will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day at Buhl Park in Hermitage. Proceeds benefit Shenango River watchers.

• Grace United Methodist Church, 210 S. Broad St., Grove City, will host a Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Call the church office at 724-458-8660 to make your reservation.

Doors open at 11 a.m. with appetizers for those dining in; take-out orders can be picked up from noon to 1 p.m. at the tent on Grace Street; and local deliveries start at 11am

The menu includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, buttered bread, and pumpkin pie.

• Bethany Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Venango St., Mercer, will host a community Thanksgiving dinnerr from noon to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The deadline to reserve a spot is today, November 16.

The meal includes turkey, dressing, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, rolls, vegetables, and pie. COVID-19 precautions will be followed. For further information: Call 724-662-4340.
