On the road once again! The 11the The annual Turkey Trot returns as an in-person event on Saturday, November 27, 2021, after a one-year hiatus related to COVID. The Greenwich Alliance for Education, organizer of the fundraising event for Greenwich Public School programs, is expecting nearly 2,000 attendees and spectators for the biggest community event on Thanksgiving weekend.

Participants can choose between a 5 km run or a 1 mile non-competitive run / walk. Both races start and end at the Arch Street Teen Center at 100 Arch Street, and navigate the beautiful, flat roads of Bruce Park. The Cadillac of Greenwich 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk starts at 9:30 a.m., followed by the HSS Stamford 5K at 10:00 a.m. Warm-up and stretching will be offered at 9:00 a.m.

“We are delighted to once again host the Turkey Trot as an in-person event,” said Julie Faryniarz, Executive Director of the Greenwich Alliance for Education. “It’s wonderful to be able to bring the community together for fun while also raising money for Greenwich school programming for students from early childhood through college graduation and in the work force.”

Registration, available online at www.greenwichalliance.org/turkey-trot-2021, costs $ 15 for children (13 and under) and $ 30 for adults until October 31. Adult price drops to $ 35 from November 1 to November 26 and to $ 40 on race day (November 27). All proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go directly to Greenwich Alliance for Education programs that fund innovation, expand opportunity and inspire teachers to foster the educational success of students at Greenwich Public School.

As an added bonus, the Alliance will be hosting its annual “Run for Your School” competition, awarding a $ 500 gift card towards physical education purchases at the Greenwich School with the highest number of runners entered. The 2019 winner was the Julian Curtiss School.

Performance gear t-shirts and gift bags are guaranteed to runners who register before November 15th. Pre-registrants are encouraged to pick up race equipment – bibs, t-shirts and gift bags – on Friday, November 26 at Cadillac of Greenwich, 144 Railroad Avenue. Race day registration will take place inside the Arch Street Teen Center from 8:15 am to 9:15 am.

Rewards and merchandise prizes will be given to the top three male and female 5K winners. The first three men and women in 9 age categories, from 10 years and under to 70 years and over, will also receive rewards offered by ASF Promotions. All 1 mile completers will receive medals.
