Smothered Chicken at Southrn ‘Spice

Southrn ‘Spice recently opened at Cross Street Market and serves a variety of southern dishes.

On a recent trip to the market, I ordered the smothered chicken appetizer. The chicken quarter was cooked and topped with a homemade barbecue sauce. It was very juicy with the sauce having a good mix of spicy and sweet.

The starter comes with two sides, and I had the cabbage and the red beans and the rice. Both were a great addition to the meal.

Bison Burger at Abbey Burger Bistro

Abbey Burger Bistro has so many beautiful burgers that making a decision can be a challenge.

The last time I stopped by I went for the Southwest Bison Burger. It’s a great bison patty topped with jalapeños, salsa, avocado, pepper jack and crème fraîche on a brioche bun.

It was an amazing combination of flavors and the side of the home made fries was delicious as always.

Hamburger at Hull Street Blues

I stick to the burgers, I recently bought the Hull Street Blues takeout burger at Locust Point. The burger features Black Angus beef from Creekstone Farms and is served on a brioche bun. You can garnish it however you like, and I added some cheese.

The beef is super tasty and the burger was cooked perfectly to perfection. The hand cut fries on the side were also excellent.

Turkey Powerhouse at City Limits Sports Bar

City Limits has a great bar menu and I was happy to stumble upon the Turkey Powerhouse sandwich on my last visit. It features sliced turkey, hummus, cucumbers, roasted red peppers, lettuce and tomato on toasted multigrain bread.

It was such a fresh and tasty sandwich, and I will definitely do it again.
