Plans show the restaurant will have a drive-through window and 31 parking spaces.

Based in New Jersey PN Restaurants is the spearhead of the project. Rochester Dev, LLC, of Edison, NJ, purchased the land for $ 710,000 on December 22.

While there is no detailed timeline for the project, Popeyes Headquarters has said it expects the North Rochester site to be ready to open in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Depending on the availability of materials and the speed of the clearance process, local Popeyes fans might sprinkle “Cajun Sparkle” seasoning on a chicken sandwich and a side of red beans and rice by the holidays.

A second Med City location Popeyes is already cooking in southwest Rochester on the former site of the Place des Boulangers restaurant by the ex-Toys r us shop. This project is not as advanced as the Northwestern Popeyes, so it might not be ready to start serving until 2022.
