The non-profit veteran community outreach group, Once upon a time Inc.was founded in 2018 by Petty Officer Michael Edmond, also known as “DJ NV Navy Veteran” and his Racquel’s wife. The couple’s mission is to give back to the nation’s military and their immediate families. The focus of Once upon a time Inc. is to help veterans who do not have access to a military facility.
This weekend Once upon a time Inc. gives back to the veterans of the parish of Calcasieu with an initiative they started, “Service on Saturdays” to help service men and women who live more than 50 miles from a military installation. Saturday November 12, will be the 1st annual event where they will be giving away holiday turkeys (while supplies last) to SWLA veterans! Everything will happen at Alarm clock market #80 at 5665 Nelson Road in Lake Charles from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Please note that holiday turkeys are for veterans only and military ID is required.
