SINGAPORE – Singapore has been named the most Instagrammable place in the world for 2022, travel publication Big 7 Travel announced on Tuesday (January 18th).

In his post about his annual hashtag tally, now in its fourth year, he said the city-state is teeming with photo opportunities “from the iconic Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay to the vibrant kaleidoscope of street art through Haji Lane”.

“As well as the permanent gems, since Singapore is one of Asia’s art hubs, there’s almost always a unique exhibition going on, perfect for those ‘wow’ shots,” he added.

The publication chose the winners using a scoring system that analyzed the number of hashtags by destination, the results of a survey of its audience of 1.5 million and the contributions of its global editorial team.

The destinations were ranked in order of visual appeal and popularity on social networks.

The full list included 50 destinations.

Boracay in the Philippines was second, while Oahu, Hawaii came in third.

Other locations on the list included Paris, Istanbul in Turkey and Dublin in Ireland.

In Singapore, Big 7 Travel encouraged travelers to stroll the streets along Koon Seng Road in the Joo Chiat district, known for its colorful houses, and to visit Tan Teng Niah’s former home for photos at Breathtaking.
