On Wednesday, the Mug Club members took a trip down Memory Lane with a fabulous 50s party, with milkshakes prepared by Erica Boynton in an old-fashioned drugstore blender, served in authentic glasses, with lots of candy and candy. We danced to popular music of the time and everyone had a great time with lots of laughs and fun. The Mug Club supports the American Legion turkey campaign. Good news! You can enjoy Halloween without leaving town! Tamworth Outing Club and Tamworth Recreation are hosting “Halloween in the Village” on Sunday, October 31, starting at 1:30 pm, with a pumpkin carving on the history center lawn. Bring your own pumpkins for carving or help carve pumpkins. The hearth and music will be provided by White Mountain Ceili Band. All of the pumpkins will be carved, lit and placed along Main Street in the village of Tamworth, ready for a ride or a 5 p.m. treat for the children and families of Tamworth.

On Sunday, October 31, from noon to 2 p.m., the community school offers a festive community lunch with a lot of fun.

“If you have a costume you want to show off, wear it when you come for lunch and take part in the costume parade and win an award,” said Lianne Prentice, principal of The Community School.

There will be a Harvest Lunch with music provided by Andi Prill, Judy Billera and Heidi Fayle. Fayle will follow her singing with some seasonal stories for all ages. There will also be games and crafts hosted by Alex Bradford and some of the summer camp counselors.

Lunch will include venison stew, harvest mac and cheese, fresh rolls, coleslaw with garlic vinaigrette and a slice of pie. Gluten free options will be available. The whole meal is offered by donation.

On Wednesday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m., join the Cook Memorial Library and the Chocorua Lake Conservancy for a screening of the films “Dawnland” and “Dear Georgina”, followed by a question and answer session with film participants and co-workers. – directors. .

The Tamworth History Center’s annual meeting, which included a traditional potluck lunch, with a selection of entrees, salads and baked goods, took place on Saturday, October 16 and brought together members of the board of directors and community members.
