WFP has provided 120 TRY (14 USD) per person via an electronic voucher to 49,545 beneficiaries (refugees in camps), of whom 47 percent depend solely on this assistance.

The e-voucher assistance is paid at the contracted markets located in the camps where the prices of the supermarkets in the camp are cheaper than the nearby non-contracted markets or any other market located in the same region. That said, the cost of the food basket, even in contracted markets, increased from TRY 148 ($ 18) per person per month in March 2020 to TRY 189 ($ 22) in March 2021 (an increase of 28 percent). ). Currently, the amount of assistance covers about 63 percent of the balanced food needs of the camp population and is insufficient in the absence of additional income.

WFP has broadened the scope of its livelihood activities by adding new training opportunities, such as housekeeping, storekeeper and food packaging, which will be consolidated under the umbrella of the Empowerment and Sustainability Program. socio-economic (SES). Applications for store attendant, assistant chef and housekeeping have been launched. The protocol with the Ministry of National Education (MoNE) has been signed and training is expected to start in August. Two Turkish academics selected by WFP are researching successful models that support the economic integration of refugees through skills and vocational training based on the MUV. The desk review has been completed and the field study began in June. Scheduled for finalization in September, this study aims to capture lessons learned in order to improve program design and come up with a model that can be replicated in other countries.
